"Our industrial engineering department has been using the workstudy+ software for approximately 8-10 months now and we have had quite a bit of success using it to set rates at both our machining plant and our assembly plant on machining equipment, multi bank test stations, and rotary assembly tables.

The real value for us in using the software is the ability to record times simultaneously from multi bank test stations that have anywhere from two to six banks. Previously we used hand held stop watches and were only able to capture data on one bank at a time and we were not able to collect successive cycle times; the workstudy+ software enables us to get a more complete picture of the operation and set very accurate production rates. Looking at the complete picture has allowed us to record accurate cycle times for the machine and analyze machine idle time, which the operator directly influences. Over the course of a few months we have been able to collect quite a bit of data on machine idle time. In the future the data we have collected will give us the ability to set rates based on a "goal" for machine idle time. Workstudy+ give us the ability to collect (in some cases) 2000% more data than we could before in less time. By collecting accurate data and being able to quickly analyze the data using Excel, our proposed rate changes have been approved by management much quicker than before we began using workstudy+; it is very difficult for management to argue with complete and concise real time data.

The real value in the workstudy+ software is the ability to quickly sell management on production rate changes. Workstudy+ has proved to be an invaluable tool for us to use. My manager has complemented me several times on my selection of the workstudy+ software."
